Wagnis, Mut, Verantwortung – Vortrags- und Diskussionsreihe 2025/26
Nachhaltig, demokratisch, zukunftsfest?
Frankfurt is not only an international financial centre, but also an urban pioneer in sustainable development. But how can a growing city like Frankfurt continue to ensure the quality of life of its residents in the future while remaining an attractive business location?
This question is all the more pressing at a time when liberal democracies are under pressure from populism and disinformation, social divisions are increasing, and populist movements are threatening democratic discourse. At our event, experts from academia, urban planning and civil society will discuss forward-looking approaches for a resilient, sustainable Frankfurt, in which sustainable urban development and the protection of democratic values support each other. What course do we need to set for a sustainable Frankfurt – as a green, liveable metropolis in a complex political and social environment?
With Prof. Dr Marcus Gwechenberger (Head of Planning and Housing, Frankfurt), Andreas Hofer (Managing Director of IBA'27 StadtRegion Stuttgart), Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Volker Mosbrugger (President of the Polytechnic Society) and Prof. Dr. Flurina Schneider (Scientific Director of ISOE)
