Mutig bilden – Bildung für ein zukunftsfähiges Frankfurt

Frankfurt stands for diversity in action, civic responsibility, a humanistic heritage, democracy and dynamic urbanity. Looking to the future of this city, the question arises as to what content/aspects a concept of education should include.

A new concept of education should be developed for this city, one that aims, among other things, to empower people to actively shape change. The ‘Rethinking Education’ initiative, which emerged from the Polytechnic family, has developed proposals that redefine education in Frankfurt – as both personal development and social shaping. The theme evening ‘Courageous Education’ puts this vision up for discussion: What skills do we need for the future? How can diversity become a learning resource? How can schools become educational hubs in the neighbourhood? How can education succeed in reaching people of all backgrounds and ages? And finally, how should Frankfurt be designed as an educational landscape?
