Germany is a constitutional state, and its citizens have many opportunities to participate in decision-making within the framework of the law. However, Frankfurt has its own tradition of breaking the law: time and again, attempts have been made to achieve political goals by illegal means. On this evening, we want to discuss whether illegal actions are nevertheless legitimate, or even beneficial. To this end, we will look back at the ‘Häuserkampf’ (house battle) in Westend, but also at current disputes such as the one surrounding the Dondorf printing plant. The discussion will be attended by historian Christian Setzepfandt, city councillor Sylvia Weber and Prof. Dr Matthias Jahn, lawyer at Goethe University. The event will be moderated by Manfred Köhler, F.A.Z.
With Prof. Dr Matthias Jahn (judge at the Higher Regional Court), Christian Setzepfandt (historian, art historian and city guide), Sylvia Weber (Head of the Department of Education, Real Estate and New Construction)
Moderator: Manfred Köhler (F.A.Z)
