LOOM – Who has shaped you?

Who shapes our creative identity? Did we consciously choose our role models, or were they imposed on us? How do these role models influence our perception, our creative self-image, and our professional identity, and how can we break these patterns?

The exhibition WHO HAS SHAPED YOU? explores the influences shaping our creative identity. It challenges stereotypical role models and highlights gaps in representation through various stations. From a student perspective, it opens up a space for reflection, critique, and new points of reference. At the heart of our keynote presentation at “Dialog Architektur” is the central question: “What comes next?” Together with students, faculty, and those interested in architecture, we would like to discuss how issues surrounding gender justice, diversity, and structural inequalities can be anchored in building culture and architectural education in the long term. In this joint dialogue, the focus should be deliberately directed forward, looking beyond the exhibition to explore further possibilities for making the social issues highlighted in the exhibition a natural part of teaching and practice, without treating them as a “special interest” of individual marginalized groups.
