The curator Heiner Blum will guide visitors through the exhibition Hidden History – Facets of Subculture in Frankfurt Rhine-Main together with participating artists, offering insights into its development.

Blum is the initiator of Diamant / Museum für Urbane Kultur and has worked for decades at the intersection of art, public space and social processes. He repeatedly seeks out and activates vacant sites, transforming them into temporary spaces for artistic and cultural production.

His practice revolves around the question of who the urban space belongs to and how it can be appropriated through artistic interventions. This perspective also shapes Hidden History, which was developed in collaboration with key figures from Frankfurt’s subcultural scenes.

In dialogue with the participating artists, the contexts, working methods and stories behind the projects on display become directly accessible.

Admission: €5, including entry to the exhibition. No registration is required.

Please note that the event will take place in German.

The Frankfurter Kunstverein is an interdisciplinary exhibition space for contemporary art and culture. Here, an inquisitive public encounters exhibitions that engage the senses and discovers new perspectives on our present.
The project partner is the Diamant Museum for Urban Culture, Offenbach, which engages with historical and contemporary positions of subversive and subcultural activity in the Frankfurt RheinMain region.
