Hannibal Tarkan Daldaban has been an internationally renowned event organiser and DJ for decades. He is a key figure in Frankfurt’s club and event scene. Despite his international career, he has chosen to make his home in the Rhine-Main region, where he has realised many of his projects. At the heart of his work lies the interaction between people. To this end, he continually creates new spaces – places for encounters and experiences.
As part of the exhibition “Hidden History”, a bar in the foyer on the first floor of the Frankfurter Kunstverein will serve as a central meeting point. Daldaban brings the exhibition space to life through his personal presence and offers visitors the chance to hear stories about the events, personalities and venues of Frankfurt’s subculture in the 1990s and 2000s. On 2 May, the bar will be expanded to include a listening session with Luzi Gehrisch: drawing on Gehrisch’s broad musical spectrum – ranging from electronic and experimental music to jazz and traditional forms – a shared space for listening will emerge.
Admission: €5 (includes access to the exhibition)
The Frankfurter Kunstverein is an interdisciplinary exhibition space for contemporary art and culture. Here, an inquisitive public encounters exhibitions that engage the senses and discovers new perspectives on our present. The project partner is the Diamant Museum for Urban Culture, Offenbach, which engages with historical and contemporary positions of subversive and subcultural activity in the Frankfurt RheinMain region.
