The performance "Don’t fall for the DJ" by Sismalena (Eleni Sismanidou) explores the DJ as a pop-cultural figure of projection in the post-digital space.

Performers carry and stabilise a DJ booth from which a DJ is playing. Their bodies become the architecture of the stage, and for around twenty minutes a choreography emerges from pressure, friction, sweat and controlled tension, which shifts the focus from the DJ to the people and relationships that make his visibility possible in the first place. The work explores questions of desire, dependence and visibility, along with regimes of the gaze, voyeuristic structures and the pleasure of observation. Afterwards, the performance transitions into a communal party, creating a space for encounters, exchange and shared experience.

With Shared Matter #2, G10 Projektraum and blumen e.V. are developing a co-curated exhibition and performance project dedicated to the idea of radical connectedness and the communal use of spaces. Starting from the question of how community can be created, shared and experienced, three performative interventions will take place between 7 August and 5 September 2026, moving between the two venues.

The invited artists Sismalena (Eleni Sismanidou), Juliane Schmitt and Maex Hoellenblau forge connections in their performances between bodies, spaces and rhythm – thereby breaking with structures and conventional ways of seeing that are deeply rooted in the collective memory.

The performance format enables temporary encounters for the audience and opens up new forms of interaction. The Shared Matter #2 project views connectedness not as a given, but as something that is constantly renegotiated and jointly shaped.
