In Bauklötze, Maex Hoellenblau invites the audience into a multilayered, technoid construction-site theatre where seemingly fixed norms and social orders begin to unravel.

Together with performers Fan-Yu Pu and Nadja Barthel, the artist develops choreographic situations that draw on children's imaginative worlds as alternative models for adulthood. The performance adopts a deliberately childlike aesthetic that initially appears gentle and familiar, yet gradually unfolds into an anarchic critique of society.

Following the performances on 5 September, elements of the stage set and costumes will be transformed into an installation at G10 Projektraum. The resulting exhibition will be on view from 6–26 September 2026.

With Shared Matter #2, G10 Projektraum and blumen e.V. are developing a co-curated exhibition and performance project dedicated to the idea of radical connectedness and the communal use of spaces. Starting from the question of how community can be created, shared and experienced, three performative interventions will take place between 7 August and 5 September 2026, moving between the two venues.

The invited artists Sismalena (Eleni Sismanidou), Juliane Schmitt and Maex Hoellenblau forge connections in their performances between bodies, spaces and rhythm – thereby breaking with structures and conventional ways of seeing that are deeply rooted in the collective memory.

The performance format enables temporary encounters for the audience and opens up new forms of interaction. The Shared Matter #2 project views connectedness not as a given, but as something that is constantly renegotiated and jointly shaped.
