RSV Pumpe Darmstadt e.V.

With the project “Making the invisible tangible,” RSV Pumpe aims to open up new perspectives on urban mobility, social participation, and hidden urban experiences. As part of WDC 2026, the project will focus on the invisible in three phases —whether places, people, or structures— allowing them to be discovered and experienced by bicycle.

Phase 1 – making the INVISIBLE tangible
The project kicks off with a public opening event on May 16 at Schuki (Schuknechtstraße 1, Darmstadt). Through participatory activities, creative initiatives, and dialogue, we invite you to get to know our community and share curiosity about invisible places. In addition, the cargo trailer will be finalized as the central hub for the following events.

Phase 2 – MAKING the Invisible tangible
An open participation day in our workshop will allow us to work together to get bicycles roadworthy, promote self-help, and open up mobility. Through workshops, we aim to demonstrate practical knowledge while remaining accessible and inclusive.

Phase 3 – making the invisible tangible
Through guided bike tours, we invite participants to discover hidden places, projects, and perspectives in Darmstadt—accompanied by keynote speeches and discussion. Our project is open to the public—non-discriminatory, intergenerational, and open to all. The bicycle serves as both, a tool and a symbol: it connects movement, mobility, participation, and the freedom to shift perspectives.

We, RSV Pumpe Darmstadt e.V., are primarily committed to making cycling more accessible and actively promote diversity and equality in our sport and beside. The project “Making the invisible tangible” offers an opportunity to connect local partners through cycling.
