On 11 November, the first day of the Design Policy Days at Heimathafen Wiesbaden will bring together practitioners from the public sector, politics and business with international service design experts. The day’s programme will focus on how citizen-centred services can be further developed in Hesse, the Rhine-Main region and beyond.

The day will serve as a platform for exchange, reflecting on key challenges and tried-and-tested solutions. The results will be fed directly into the Design Action Plan Frankfurt RheinMain. In the evening, the programme takes on an international dimension: the evening event marks the opening of the Design Policy Days and sets the scene for the following three days of the conference.

Key topics:

  • Service design as a tool for administrative reform
  • Citizen-centred design of public services
  • Translating WDC prototypes into permanent administrative practice
  • Data, digitalisation and digital services as a design task
  • Scaling and institutionalising service design approaches

The day will be organised in close cooperation between Heimathafen Wiesbaden, the German Design Council, the Service Design Network (SDN) and World Design Capital Frankfurt Rhine-Main 2026.
