October 2026
Deutsches Ledermuseum
The aim is to open the museum as an accessible space for encounter, where people from diverse backgrounds can come together to work artistically and develop new perspectives. The project focuses on participation, diversity and intercultural dialogue, and understands artistic creation as a tool for social and cultural transformation.
From January to May 2026, artists Verena Freyschmidt, Lina Schonebeck and Nät Hübel will host five weekend workshops. Through sculpture, painting, drawing, performance and video art, participants will rediscover, reinterpret and creatively engage with objects from the Deutsches Ledermuseum’s collection.
Participation is free of charge and open to a wide audience: individuals, families, groups, and anyone interested in collective artistic practice — regardless of prior experience or artistic background.
Attendance at all sessions or for the full weekend is not required; participants are equally welcome to join for just a few hours. There is also the opportunity to continue personal projects across the workshop weekends.
The results of these creative explorations will culminate in an exhibition in autumn 2026, co-created by the participants themselves. Visitors will be invited to contribute their own perspectives, allowing the presentation to grow and evolve over time.
