Stiftung Deutsches Design Museum

The Stiftung Deutsches Design Museum (German Design Museum Foundation) strengthens the role of design as a driving force for a sustainable society. Design competence is conveyed as a key qualification for education, participation, and responsible action.

The foundation’s educational and cultural initiative Entdecke Design offers a wide range of activities: school workshops, teaching materials, and training for educators. It fosters creative and solution-oriented thinking, interdisciplinary and participatory approaches, and active engagement in shaping one’s environment. Pupils are encouraged to become researchers of their own life-world and creators of their own future.

At the core lies a hands-on approach that empowers young people to take responsibility, develop ideas, and realize them through design. In this way, the project links creativity with future skills and civic participation.

In 2026, the foundation will offer schools in the Frankfurt RheinMain region free design workshops with professional designers. Applications open in autumn 2025.
