Reclaim inner city

mh-eventproduction , Open Walls

Open Walls “reclaim inner city” is an urban art and education project promoting legal graffiti in Frankfurt’s public spaces. Its goal is to provide young people with creative opportunities for expression, to strengthen participation, and to make public space tangible as a place that can be shaped and transformed.

The project focuses on the temporary allocation of legal wall spaces, socio-educational workshops, events, and the establishment of sustainable structures for the local graffiti scene. It began in 2024 with the module “Array & Spray”: 50 meters of mobile walls were installed in the city center and used for workshops, jams, and free graffiti. In 2025, these mobile units will continue to be used in the city center and will be complemented by permanently accessible legal walls. In parallel, a broad workshop program is being developed in cooperation with schools and youth centers, addressing topics such as anti-racism and cultural identity.
