Open Walls, mh-eventproduction
The Ratswegjam, as part of the Open Walls: Reclaim Inner City initiative combines urban art, cultural education, and music, and creates an open space for creative exchange and active participation in the public realm.
Starting at 12:00, designated wall spaces and spray cans will be available as part of the Open Wall programme. This allows visitors to engage in artistic activity themselves and experience public space as a place that can be actively shaped.
In addition, around 30 invited artists will be working on-site, showcasing a variety of artistic approaches. The exchange between experienced graffiti artists, local stakeholders, and visitors facilitates accessible entry into the world of urban art and fosters interaction both within and beyond the scene.
A key feature of the event is the open workshop held from 12:00 to 14:00. Open to people of all ages, the workshop offers a practical introduction to graffiti. Alongside artistic techniques, the program emphasizes a responsible and respectful approach to public space, allowing participants to develop their own ideas and bring them to life creatively.
From 20:00 to 22:00, the programme will be complemented by a musical performance from Tubab & Friends. By combining graffiti, workshops, and music, the Ratswegjam serves as an interdisciplinary cultural event that brings together diverse audiences and highlights urban youth and subcultures.
The Ratswegjam puts the goals of Open Walls: Reclaim Inner City into practice: legal spaces are opened up for creative use, cultural participation is enabled, and public space is transformed into a venue for social interaction and collaborative creation.
The Jam is open to all ages, no registration required and free entry.
The project is supported by ort3, NaxosAtelier, World Design Capital Frankfurt RheinMain 2026 (WDC), and the Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM). The partners combine their expertise in cultural education, youth culture, urban art, design, architecture, and urban development. Together, they create spaces for creative participation, social interaction, and active engagement with public space, linking local cultural work with interdisciplinary perspectives on the city.
