Gestaltungszentrale Politik
The Political Design Facilitation aims to change how political processes work. Its goal is to develop a new, modern democratic culture of policymaking. Prototype #3 focuses on the legislative process in Hesse, which is often too rigid and leaves little room for creative solutions.
The project has three main objectives:
- to test the design methodology,
- to develop a toolkit with creative methods for policymakers and
- to collect and document experiences in order to improve political processes.
How does the project work?
Over the course of eight months, the team collaborates with politicians from Hesse. The design team moderates the process, provides expertise and documents the results. The project steps build on insights from the first two prototypes at the federal level. First, the topic is explored openly and expanded without bias. This is followed by an evaluation. Finally, solution ideas are developed and transformed into concrete implementation concepts.
The topics are chosen together with the politicians and are based on current challenges. The project concludes with a report that describes the process, evaluates it and provides recommendations for future initiatives.
