As part of the World Design Capital, the International Gender Design Network (iGDN) invites you to three days of events focused on gender and design. Under the title “Falling in Love with all Genders,” the event combines an exhibition, workshops, lectures, and discussions, highlighting just how diverse, socially relevant, and interdisciplinary gender design is today.
From June 9 to 11, an exhibition will showcase a selection of international projects that have won the iphiGenia Gender Design Award since 2017. The works on display offer insights into gender-sensitive design across various fields, including communication, digital systems, health, education, and social innovation. In addition, open workshops for students, designers, and anyone interested will take place on June 9 and 11. The focus will be on exchange, shifting perspectives, and the question of how design can promote social participation. The highlight of the event series is the major dialogue workshop on Wednesday, June 10. Through lectures, panels, and discussions, international perspectives from design, research, medicine, education, and digital development will come together. The event highlights gender design as a key cross-cutting issue of our time and opens up new perspectives on design and social change.
The International Gender Design Network (iGDN) is an international nonprofit organization that brings together designers, researchers, educators, students, and practitioners from the fields of culture and design. The iGDN develops exchange formats, workshops, exhibitions, and the iphiGenia Gender Design Award to embed gender-sensitive approaches in theory, practice, and design education, avoid stereotypes, create visibility, and promote gender-equitable solutions.
