Democracy – THE ARTS CORNER

Together with the city's population and members of the BBK, a facade artwork is visualized as a visible statement for freedom, dignity, and justice.

Five interactive, artistic action concepts initially develop different approaches to understanding democracy. This creates an artistic discourse on democratic coexistence. From this think tank of democracy, the artists of the BBK Frankfurt use the results of the individual art actions to create a graphic facade artwork. In October 2026, it will be visible from afar and to everyone who uses the various transport routes around THE ARTS CORNER (the BBK's gallery spaces) on a daily basis.

At the same time, the group exhibition “Democracy and Freedom” from September to November will show the 19 articles of the German Basic Law and critically examine them and their significance for freedom by pointing out their fragility.

The BBK Frankfurt is one of Frankfurt's oldest artists' associations. Over 300 artists from 30 nations reflect Frankfurt's international character. The exhibitions in the BBK's gallery spaces showcase all areas of the visual arts, both regionally and nationally.
