Opening

Between escalators and train tracks, art finds its place: In seven display cases on the B-level of the VGF underground station Hauptwache, students present artworks made of ceramics, glass, and metal. Fire safety regulations required the use of these materials – and opened up new creative possibilities.

Patron Prof. Dr. Marcus Gwechenberger, Head of the Department for Planning and Housing, will open the exhibition in the foyer of the Dialogmuseum Hauptwache. Since larger gatherings are not possible on the platform level, the Dialogmuseum kindly hosts the event.

The exhibition features three themes:

• Marine Worlds – fragile corals and found objects reflect both the beauty and the fragility of the oceans.
• New Urban Landscapes – architectural models made of clay and metal, inspired by the Dutch studio Ossidiana, invite visitors to rethink the city.
• Lines and Surfaces Conquer Space – a guest project by students of Helmholtzschule Frankfurt translating drawings into ceramic forms.

Painted glass elements add depth and movement, while QR codes provide background information.

Participating schools: Gymnasium Römerhof, Gymnasium Süd, Helmholtzschule Frankfurt, Marienschule Offenbach, Robert-Koch-Schule Offenbach.

The project is made possible by the Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main (VGF) in cooperation with the Museum Angewandte Kunst Frankfurt, the Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM), and BDK Hessen – the Association for Art Education.

Workshops at the Museum Angewandte Kunst complement the program and are free of charge for school classes. Further exhibitions will follow every four months, with the next one opening in April 2026.
