As part of Integrative Drogenhilfe e. V. (IDH), Arbeit, Technik und Kultur (ATK) offers employment opportunities to unemployed (former) drug users and those in substitution therapy. Since 1990, ATK has published the magazine JuBaz, which is written and designed by people affected by addiction themselves. The magazine covers interesting topics not only from the drug scene and drug support services.
Buddycare has been in existence since 2009 and is also an IDH project. It brings together volunteers and people affected by addiction, who meet once a week for about three hours over the course of a year to do activities together. Through these shared activities, both groups get to know one another and learn about each other’s lives. This allows participants to experience a sense of normalcy and participation in social life.
Together with students from the Habitat Unit (Institute of Architecture – TU Berlin) and in collaboration with students from Mainz University of Applied Sciences (Communication Design – Prof. David Voss), the Jubaz and Buddycare projects will be presented and showcased at the kiosk on Frankfurt’s Römer.
