Stiftung Deutsches Design Museum

The non-profit German Design Museum Foundation (SDDM) strengthens the role of design as a shaping force for future-oriented education and society and is committed to promoting design literacy as a key competence for social participation and forward-looking action.

The foundation’s own education and cultural initiative, “Discover Design,” offers a wide range of free educational programs, including school workshops, teaching materials, and professional development for teachers. It strengthens future-relevant skills, fosters creative and solution-oriented thinking, encourages interdisciplinary and participatory work, and promotes active involvement in shaping one’s own environment. Students are guided to become researchers of their own life world and developers of their own future. The focus is on a hands-on approach that empowers young people to take responsibility, develop their own ideas, and implement them creatively.

In 2026, the foundation will offer schools in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region various free design workshops led by professional designers, as well as several professional development formats for teachers.

Further information about the workshops can be found at www.deutschesdesignmuseum.de.

Free guides and additional teaching materials are available at www.designwissen.net.
