Laboratory Festival
Laboratory – A World Design Street Festival
An open festival for creative ideas and experimentation
Laboratory is a festival where creative people from different fields come together to try out new ideas. They combine disciplines – such as design, art, music and architecture – in experimental ways to create new forms of expression that influence pop culture.
Under the theme "Design for Democracy", the festival explores how design and culture can help make public spaces more inclusive, accessible and vibrant for everyone.
Events take place in a variety of locations – from former industrial sites to well-known cultural venues like the Mathildenhöhe. These unique settings help highlight and enhance the meaning of each performance or installation.
The festival features a diverse cultural programme including:
Performances, film screenings, readings, city walks, workshops and participatory formats involving local creatives and communities. The aim is to connect people, spark new perspectives and bring different forms of expression into dialogue.
All events are free and open to everyone.
