Was ich mit mir trage - Afghanische Frauen erzählen durch Kunst
zan – Hilfsorganisation zur Förderung der Rechte afghanischer Frauen e. V.
Afghan women with refugee or migration backgrounds often experience isolation, lack of visibility, and structural barriers to social participation in Germany. At the same time, their individual stories, perspectives, and potentials largely remain unseen. There is a need for safe, empowering spaces where they can express themselves creatively, process their experiences, and make them visible—both for themselves and for the wider society.
In workshops, Afghan women contribute their stories, ideas, and creativity. The project is supported by artists and volunteer women from the organization zan – Hilfsorganisation zur Förderung der Rechte afghanischer Frauen e.V. The public is invited to the presentations to engage with the participants’ stories and perspectives.
The project aims, on one hand, to educate and empower Afghan women, helping them develop self-confidence and agency. On the other hand, it makes their life realities visible, contributing to intercultural understanding. The project’s outcomes are also presented artistically and documented, making them accessible to a wider audience.
