transform-R
March 2027
Regionalverband FrankfurtRheinMain, Goethe-Universität Frankfurt sowie die Stadt Offenbach am Main
The aim is to improve the quality of life, reduce traffic congestion, and thereby make the neighborhood more socially equitable.
Local residents, their experiences, and their perspectives play a central role in the project's development. The neighborhood is to be reimagined in a participatory process and redesigned as part of a real-world laboratory.
Not just talking about change, but trying it out directly. That is the goal of a real-world laboratory. The approach consists of testing practical measures directly on site and together with those affected, as well as in an exchange between administration and science. Participatory events, online participation, and expert surveys are part of this.
In this way, change is not only conceived, but lived—with tailor-made solutions.
transform-R was initiated by the FrankfurtRhineMain Regional Association and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Its goal is to advance the energy and mobility transition in the region. The focus is on ecological and social aspects that improve quality of life. Project partners in the real-world laboratory in Offenbach are Goethe University Frankfurt and the City of Offenbach am Main, which is responsible for the specific implementation measures.
