Schader-Festival 2026

What might democracy look like today and tomorrow? How can we help shape it, drive it forward, and bring it to life? And what ideas, visions, or experiments are needed to ensure that democracy is not just discussed, but experienced and strengthened?

That is exactly what the second Schader Festival is all about. In collaboration with World Design Capital Frankfurt RheinMain 2026—which will transform the entire region into a laboratory for future-oriented design in 2026—we will bring together people from the social sciences and the professional world on September 4, 2026, and create a space for new perspectives on democracy.

For one day, the Schader Campus will transform into a festival venue for extraordinary ideas, meaningful conversations, and surprising moments that bridge theory and practice.

Through this year’s Call for Ideas, we’ve once again received many exciting ideas, which we’re turning into a special program for our festival! Together with the World Design Capital Frankfurt RheinMain 2026, we’re creating space for new, innovative, and inspiring perspectives on democracy.

Since 1988, the Schader Foundation has been promoting dialogue between the social sciences and practice. Through its own projects, it creates spaces in which science, politics, business and civil society can work together to find answers to current challenges.
