- Projektaufruf: mitte gemeinsam gestalten!
June 2026
Koordinierungsstelle Stadtraum Mitte im Stadtplanungsamt der Stadt Frankfurt am Main
Shape the City Center Together: Up to 2,000 euros for your ideas for downtown Frankfurt. The call for projects from the City Center Coordination Office at the City Planning Department of the City of Frankfurt am Main is now open.
The call for proposals aims to lay the groundwork for a downtown fund that will provide financial and programmatic support for pilot projects, ideally extending beyond the current pilot phase. Anyone can apply—for example, with cultural and community initiatives, workshops, dialogue events, temporary uses of vacant spaces, or small-scale design projects in public spaces.
In addition, workshops and networking events are planned. Furthermore, starting in the fall of 2026, the Agency for Urban Transformation at Braubachstraße 7 will once again be open to the public as a space for exchange, interaction, and collaborative urban design.
Applications may be submitted through June 18, 2026.
Through the downtown fund “Shaping MITTE Together,” the City of Frankfurt supports ideas from the city’s community for Frankfurt’s downtown area.
We are looking for projects that revitalize spaces, bring people together, and inject new energy into downtown—ranging from small-scale initiatives in public spaces to new uses, cultural programs, or community projects.
This is not just about financial support: The Stadtraum Mitte Coordination Office provides expert guidance for the selected projects and creates spaces for exchange, networking, and joint development.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for ideas and projects with a clear connection to Frankfurt’s city center and its challenges, strengths, and future prospects. These can include, for example, cultural formats, neighborhood projects, workshops, temporary uses, smaller events, creative interventions, or new meeting places. It is important that the projects have a connection to the city center, appeal to people, and can be implemented between July and October 2026.
Who can participate?
Anyone with a compelling and feasible project idea can participate: from young to old, initiatives, associations, cultural practitioners, neighborhood projects, local stakeholders from retail, gastronomy, culture, or education, schoolchildren, students, families, seniors, visionaries, sponsors, designers, downtown creators, and users.
What’s on offer?
By submitting your application, you can receive expert support and, in addition, between 500 and 2,000 euros to help bring your project to life.
During the application and implementation phases, the Stadtraum Mitte Coordination Office at the City Planning Department will be there to offer you advice and support. In addition, our Downtown Workshop at Braubachstraße 7—the agency for urban transformation—will reopen its doors after summer break as a place for meeting, exchange, and networking.
