Mess en Commune

The poster campaign “Mess en Commune” brings feminist and ecological perspectives into Frankfurt’s public spaces – spaces otherwise dominated by commercial and political messaging.

Six tandems, each consisting of one artist and one designer, are developing posters that address themes such as urbanity, periphery, and growth. The posters can be combined in over 700 different ways to form a larger whole, creating cross-references between the individual works. The campaign will take place from April to June 2026 in several waves across various locations in Frankfurt. Passers-by will be invited to reflect on their surroundings and on broader social contexts.

The project will culminate in an exhibition presenting a high-quality edition of the posters, produced using the risograph printing process, which will also be available for purchase. This ensures the works can be both disseminated and archived. Alongside the exhibition, a publication will be released and launched in a dedicated event, featuring readings from the included texts.
