Magistrat der Stadt Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe
In the KunstWerkStadt, artists from Bad Homburg present their artworks in private studios, workspaces, or public locations, turning the entire city into an open studio. KunstWerkStadt is conceived as a project of lived democracy.
For the 2026 edition, a dedicated website will be created, allowing artists to register from February 2026. Registration closes in May 2026, after which a complete overview of participants will be available. Based on this, a city map will be produced showing the locations where the artists present their work. The map will be distributed to the public via local press in a large print run (at least 20,000 copies) prior to the KunstWerkStadt weekend, enabling visitors to find and visit the artists.
For 2026, artists will be invited to create works on the theme of “Democracy.” The project will be promoted through local press, social media, print media, and large posters. The initiative encourages the city’s residents to engage with the artists, explore their works, and experience the enrichment that art provides. KunstWerkStadt makes lived democracy tangible: free art serves as an expression of democratic values.
The project is led and funded by the Department of Culture & Education of the City of Bad Homburg, with organizational support from the private artists Natalie Eckes and Annette Euler.
