The modular concept of the Inclusion Hub (“i.hub”) represents a holistic, innovative solution for people with and without disabilities, combining affordable living, working, care, social interaction, and mobility with the aim of promoting participation, thereby creating greater value for everyone.
For cities and municipalities, the inclusion hub offers a sustainable solution to the challenges of demographic change. Inclusion, an aging society, increasing loneliness, growing demand for care services—all these issues are addressed in the i.hub model through community structures, mutual support, and the linking of housing, work, care, and social interaction. What makes i.hub special is that it combines economic viability with social added value through synergies in care and support. It shows that innovative neighborhood development not only incurs costs, but also saves costs in the long term, creates added value for everyone, and improves quality of life. i.hub acts as the heart of the neighborhood and creates spaces where people can meet, support each other, and get involved—regardless of age, origin, or disability. The model deliberately focuses on a balance between community and privacy: retreats for the individual, open meeting places for the community. The i.hub planned for Wiesbaden is not only a model for the city, but a transferable concept for every municipality and every neighborhood. It addresses key issues for the future—affordable housing, inclusion, demographic change, sustainability—and translates them into concrete, practical solutions.
The team consists of affected parents with expertise in architecture, public relations, and transportation planning. Together, they want to implement the concept of inclusive living in order to create a holistic solution that others in similar situations can also use or replicate.
