Fischerhallen

Until 1859, Frankfurt’s fishers stored their tools and repaired their nets in the Fischerhallen. The barrel vaults beneath the Mainkai at the Alte Brücke still exist today and are owned by the City of Frankfurt. Ideas to transform these historic spaces into a cultural venue or café have been around for some time. Students from Mainz University of Applied Sciences, in collaboration with bb22 architects + urban planners and Making Frankfurt, have taken up these concepts and developed a range of inclusive usage scenarios.
