Fashion For Democracy (FFD) – Design For Better Lives

Fashion For Democracy (FFD) will run through various project phases between 2025 and 2026 with international perspectives. It explores the relationship between fashion, art, and democracy, incorporating diverse viewpoints. Fashion For Democracy tests the democratization of fashion through projects that foster social renewal and introduce new methods.

The festival at the Designhaus Darmstadt includes workshops, agoras, lectures, exhibitions, installations, and immersive art, supported by regional partners such as the Fashion Campus, Fashion Revolution, Femnet, design universities, institutions like Bayern Design, and other international and academic partnerships.

The festival brings together artists, designers, activists, academics, and decision-makers. It is aimed at civil society, local and international communities, as well as experts from the fields of fashion, art, culture, business, and politics. Beyond the festival itself, Fashion For Democracy invites artists and creatives working at the intersections of aesthetics, democracy, fashion, and environmental awareness to engage and interact with visitors.
