Design Thinking in Aktion: professional development workshop

In this professional development workshop, teachers will experience the Design Thinking process firsthand through a practical workshop format. Participants will become familiar with its core principles, phases, and pedagogical approaches, and will explore how it can be applied in educational settings through concrete examples and hands-on activities.

We warmly invite teachers to attend a free professional development workshop on September 2, 2026, in Frankfurt. The focus of the training is the Design Thinking process, which we will explore together using the workshop format “Design Thinking in Action.” Participants will gain insight into its key principles, phases, and educational objectives, while discovering through practical examples and interactive exercises how Design Thinking can be implemented in the school context.

Using the accompanying teaching guide and related classroom materials, we will lead you step by step through the structure and implementation of the workshop, enabling you to independently facilitate it with your own students.

The training is aimed at teachers of Ethics, Politics, Economics, Social Studies, and Art, as well as anyone interested in eco-social design, the promotion of creative processes, and the development of future-oriented competencies in education. This tested workshop format supports teachers in integrating Design Thinking as an action-oriented approach into their teaching and actively involving students in the structured development of school projects.

• Introduction to the Design Thinking process as a creative method for learning and problem-solving
• Presentation of the “Design Thinking in Action” workshop concept for students from Grade 8 onwards
• Insights into the teaching guide and examples from previous workshops
