Scholz & Volkmer GmbH
As part of the WDC 2026 claim ‘Design for Democracy’, an interdisciplinary hackathon is being held that brings together creative minds from the fields of design, content and programming. The aim is to develop new creative and digital approaches to make democracy visible, understandable and tangible.
Collaborative teams will develop visual, interactive or data-based concepts that address democratic values, social issues and forms of participation. The results will be presented on a large-format LED display in a public space – at the Schlachthof Wiesbaden – thus making democracy accessible to a wide audience beyond institutional spaces. This can be achieved, for example, through interactive elements that involve passers-by, mood-based representations that reflect local data, or artistic interventions that stimulate dialogue.
The visualisation in urban space acts as a catalyst for exchange and discussion, connecting creative processes with the urban public sphere.
The creative agency for digital brand management, based in Wiesbaden and Berlin, serves clients ranging from international brands to small NGOs, and maintains long-standing relationships with many. Having won over 650 awards, the agency regularly receives national and international recognition. In addition to creating and developing campaigns for clients, it also implements its own projects with a socio-political background. In keeping with the agency's own sustainability strategy, Shared Value, products such as the NOx City Air Indicatorand a CO2 app are being developed, which encourages daily CO2 savings through small actions.
