Cycling provides more energy, reduces stress and is good for the environment. The project "Brückenschlag Mainz-Wiesbaden" aims to ensure that significantly more people commute to work by bicycle instead of car in summer 2026.
For one month, cyclists are expected to cross the three main bridges as frequently as possible. The data will be tracked via an app and permanently installed devices. Companies compete in teams. The collected data will be used to plan a permanent cycle superhighway. A permanent cycle superhighway would primarily be a flagship project for the entire region, making the connection between the two state capitals more sustainable and faster.
