(be aware) Designpreis für Inklusion

The non-profit association design inclusion e.V. is once again announcing the nationwide (be aware) Design Award for Inclusion 2026, which comes with a prize of €10,000 for the winner.

In its competition brief, (be aware) 2026 focuses on sensory perceptions: sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, orientation, as well as aspects of understanding, communication and care. Participants are encouraged to explore design across all levels of perception. The aim is to demonstrate: Everything can be designed!

Awards will be given to projects that open up new design perspectives, address real needs and develop accessible solutions through innovative approaches to perception and interaction. Inclusive design puts democratic values into practice: it protects, involves and values people with disabilities, thereby contributing to the protection of minorities. Design for Democracy in its essence.

We are looking not only for design excellence, but above all for an attitude: empathy, responsibility and the courage to break new ground.

Founded in 2019, the non-profit association design inclusion e.V. promotes inclusive design projects to improve participation for people with different physical and mental abilities. 

As a network of designers and supporters, the association advocates for inclusion, social responsibility and participation in and through design. The aim is to create future-oriented applications, products and systems. The focus is on establishing a public forum for inclusive design.
