Agora 3.0
WAVA gGmbH
Agora 3.0 opens up new possibilities for cultural and democratic participation as well as for the creative use of public spaces through AR interventions such as 3D installations, sound works, video screenings, or artistic “serious games.”
The format does not employ new technologies as passing trends but instead engages critically with these forces that already populate our hybrid urban spaces—though mostly in commercial rather than critical-cultural ways. Agora 3.0 explores new approaches to shaping and creatively activating shared public spaces in the digital age in order to test new forms of social and cultural participation.
With the help of augmented reality, site-specific installations, performances, and interventions emerge, accessible both on-site and digitally. Artistic works open new perspectives on our present in urban space in the mid-21st century, on our shared future, and on the relationship between society and the city, cultural and technological practice. By merging physical and virtual spaces, familiar locations are reinterpreted, historical connections become visible, and entirely new narratives and interpretations are created.
