Generative artificial intelligence is turning photography as we know it upside down. It creates new visual worlds and challenges familiar ways of seeing. The Fotografie Forum Frankfurt, its managing director and photographer Alexandra Lechner, and communication designer Christian Schön (eyeye studio) are dedicating a lecture and discussion to this change as part of Frankfurt World Design Capital 2026.
The lecture will show how AI accelerates imaging processes, expands aesthetic patterns and shifts authorship. Examples from art, advertising and everyday communication illustrate the opportunities and risks. The focus is on clarity and understanding: What is changing technically? What is changing culturally? And what does this mean for photographers, designers and viewers?
