Celebrating, connecting and shaping the future together: The GemüseheldInnen warmly invite you to their summer festival at the Frankfurt Urban Farm. Guests can look forward to inspiring talks by a range of speakers, guided tours of the urban farm, a large shared buffet, and plenty of opportunities for exchange, connection and new perspectives.

A special highlight of the day will be the official opening of the Green Room – a new educational and community space at the Frankfurt Urban Farm. Supported by the World Design Capital 2026, the Green Room is being created as a place for shared learning, dialogue and positive visions for the future. It will bring together people of all ages to explore sustainable development and actively shape the future.

With the Green Room, the GemüseheldInnen are creating a weather-independent space for education, encounters and future dialogue at the Frankfurt Urban Farm on Hainer Weg 255. Embedded within this inspiring urban farming project, the space aims to encourage people to develop shared visions for fair resource distribution, liveable cities and diverse habitats for both people and nature.

As part of the opening, the GemüseheldInnen will also introduce a new participatory format for the first time: the Vision Café. This creative and interactive format strengthens our ability to imagine positive futures and creates space for collective reflection and conversation. After all, positive visions of the future are an important foundation for actively shaping social change.

Covering 4,600 square metres, the Frankfurt Urban Farm is the largest growing area run by the GemüseheldInnen. More than 30 volunteers regularly work together here according to permaculture principles, supporting climate protection, biodiversity and sustainable food systems. Alongside fresh fruit and vegetables, what grows here above all is a strong community united by the desire for a climate-friendly and socially just future. The urban farm is also an important place of learning for the wider city. Every year, more than 1,000 children, young people and adults take part in educational programmes and hands-on activities organised by the GemüseheldInnen.

The summer festival offers an opportunity to discover the urban farm, celebrate the opening of the Green Room and develop ideas for a sustainable future for Frankfurt together – with good food, inspiring conversations and in the midst of a place where the future is already being lived today.
