Eröffnung: Visionscafé im „Grünen Zimmer“

With an area of 4,600 square metres, Frankfurt City Farm is the largest site operated by GemüseheldInnen. Here, more than 30 volunteers work together to combat the climate crisis using permaculture principles. They grow fresh fruit and vegetables for their own consumption – and cultivate a community that strengthens each other, united by a shared desire for a liveable, climate-friendly future. The sense of self-efficacy gained through gardening restores confidence and often helps to combat climate anxiety and resignation. We would like to share this experience with as many people as possible – and by summer 2026, we will have created a place for exchange and education: the ‘Green Room’.

In the summer of 2026, we will inaugurate the new meeting place with a free public event featuring a ‘vision café’. In this format, which we developed ourselves, participants playfully and associatively practise strengthening their imagination. Because only those who are able to confidently imagine a positive future can initiate it! As a collaboratively built meeting place, embedded in the inspiring future location of the Frankfurt City Farm, the garden house is intended to create a permanent space for confident visions of the future, whose design encourages the exchange of ideas. As part of the opening and the Visions Café, which is free and open to the public, all interested parties are invited to develop visions for a good future with fair distribution of resources and living spaces for humans and animals – in other words, design for democracy in their own minds!
