Open Circle: Indoor Clubnacht
Open Circle is an invitation to celebrate and create together – collectively, openly, without barriers and beyond commercial constraints. As part of the World Design Capital 2026 programme, the aim is to show how club culture can serve as a platform for community, participation and creative development.
The vision: people with a shared love of electronic music come together and get involved. Whether musically, organisationally or simply through their presence on the dance floor. This creates a temporary space where new encounters are possible, social responsibility is shared and club culture becomes visible as part of a vibrant urban culture.
The two-part event series takes place at the Tokonoma nightclub in Frankfurt and features engaging participatory elements. The first edition will be held on 29 May as an indoor club night. Participatory visual installations will be a central element: in collaboration with a regional artist (Florian Grimm), immersive installations will be created that react to movement. This allows guests to actively influence the visual atmosphere and thus become part of the aesthetic experience. This will be followed on 7 August by an open-air event, where a DJ slot will be awarded democratically via social media.
The aim is to anchor this form of collaboration in the club scene in the long term. Open Circle sees itself as a model for solidarity and creative cooperation in shaping cultural spaces together.
