Before the invention of zippers, Velcro, and spandex, people in the Middle Ages held their clothing together with ribbons and belts.
It was not uncommon for these ribbons to also serve as precious pieces of jewelry in dazzling colors and intricate patterns. They were made using the finger-loop braiding technique, which allows one to weave artistic decorative ribbons using only thread and one's own two hands.
The class is led by Lisa Liebermann.
