Umweltlernen in Frankfurt e.V.
...
What do young people in Frankfurt want for their journeys to school and their everyday mobility? What makes a school journey enjoyable—and what doesn’t? Where do children and teenagers feel unsafe in traffic? And are their ideas and perspectives taken into account when shaping the city?
These are the questions explored at the Mini Mobility Festival on 18 September 2026 at Hafenpark, in front of Kunstverein Familie Montez.
At our Red Sofa, pupils will have the opportunity to talk directly with mobility experts. This year’s discussions focus on public transport—buses and trams. We are delighted to welcome Winfried Schmitz, Head of Communications & Quality at traffiQ, Frankfurt’s local public transport authority responsible for planning, organising and managing the city’s bus and rail network. Additional experts have also been invited.
The festival also features a varied programme of hands-on activities:
- A bike obstacle course and cargo bike test track invite participants to test their cycling skills.
- A bike safety quiz challenges their knowledge of road safety.
- A poster-making workshop encourages creativity and self-expression.
- There will also be opportunities to paint, craft and make your own buttons.
For even more active fun, Circus Zarakali offers activities focused on balance, coordination and movement.
Who is it for? School classes from Frankfurt (Years 3–8).
Registration: The festival is already fully booked. To join the waiting list, please email isabel.istel@stadt-frankfurt.de and include the size of your class.
