The Eurosystem is preparing a new banknote series. Their motifs — birds or heads — are on everyone's lips, as banknotes are the calling cards of a currency area.

However, design must be more than just symbolism and aesthetics: it must ensure security, functionality, and clear recognizability for everyone. The focus is on the design process, approaches, historical development, as well as the possibilities and requirements of banknote design.

Dr. Alexander Ruske, an expert from the Directorate General Cash Management of the Deutsche Bundesbank, will speak on this topic and discuss it with the audience. The event will be followed by a get-together offering an opportunity for exchange.
