Demokratie bauen

The theme of the 7th h_da Dialogue Forum on 29 January 2026 is “Building Democracy – how design and infrastructure can connect people.”
The discussion will bring together Michael Kolmer, City Councillor and Head of Urban Planning of the City of Darmstadt, with Prof. Dr Gesa Foken (Department of Design), Prof. Dr Mario Rund (Department of Social Work) and Dr Eszter Tóth (Department of Business) from Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.

The panel discussion is the second of three h_da Dialogue Forums under the guiding theme “Designing Democracy.” The series is held in the context of Frankfurt Rhine-Main being designated World Design Capital 2026 (WDC 2026) under the motto “Design for Democracy.” All interested members of the public are invited to attend at the Department of Design on the Mathildenhöhe, where h_da trains industrial and communication designers. Admission is free.
