Datscha Radio Ffm: Radyo Parfüm

At the invitation of the Frankfurter Sport- und Kunstkasino, as part of Crossing Culture Quiosque, the nomadic radio project Datscha Radio takes up residence at the Parfümerie Frankfurt off-space. Datscha Radio has been dedicated to exploring local knowledge cultures since its founding in 2012. With "Radyo Parfüm," Datscha Radio invites residents, passersby, and visitors to become active participants in the off-space of the Parfümerie Frankfurt, located in the city’s Bahnhofsviertel district.

Frankfurt Central Station and its surrounding area have frequently made headlines for troubling reasons: litter, drug-related issues, crime, ongoing construction work, and a general lack of places where people can pause, breathe, and recover.A railway station is more than just a transit point for national and international travelers and newcomers. It is a cultural melting pot, a place of transfer and encounter, and a meeting point for a wide variety of Frankfurt residents.

We want to show how making radio can function as a strategy for self-determination and democratic coexistence. Democracy is not a matter of carefully staged design "for the show." Rather, it designs itself—via creating positive change, fostering mutual respect, and cultivating an atmosphere in which everyone can breathe.

RADYO PARFÜM: 3 hours of live radio at Kaiserstraße/Jürgen-Ponto-Platz.

RADYO PARFÜM listens to and broadcasts the concerns, stories, and perspectives of people in the neighborhood. We want to start conversations, share microphones, and create space for improvisation and the unexpected.
