The housing market in Wiesbaden has been tight for years. In particular, households with moderate and lower incomes can hardly afford adequate housing on their own. As a result, more and more workers are forced to look for an apartment outside the state capital. Affordable housing is therefore one of the central social issues of our time, even in Wiesbaden.

For this reason, the Hesse Regional Office of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, in collaboration with the DGB Wiesbaden Rheingau-Taunus and the sam-Stadtmuseum am Markt, would like to initiate a discussion on how the current Maracuja Coalition in Wiesbaden intends to create more affordable housing and, furthermore, to jointly explore solutions for affordable housing for all.

Building on the presentation The City’s Responsibility for Affordable Housing! by Liz Dizinger (Policy Advisor for Structural Policy, DGB Hesse-Thuringia), a panel discussion will follow with: Simon Dylla (City Councilmember, Deputy Caucus Chair of Bündnis 90/DIE GRÜNEN Wiesbaden), Halil Siabanoglou (City Councilmember, Housing Policy Spokesperson for the SPD Caucus in Wiesbaden), and Liz Dizinger. The discussion will be moderated by Regina Käseberg from the Round Table on New Land and Housing Policy.

Please register by October 19 at the latest.
