The carriers of the World Design Capital Frankfurt RheinMain 2026 are the City of Frankfurt, led by the Department for Culture and Science.
The application for the title of World Design Capital® is based on an initiative by Werkbundakademie Darmstadt. Between 2014 and 2020, it brought together people who have since shaped the project. Design FRM gGmbH is now also the lead partner responsible for the implementation of the project as a contractual partner of WDO.
