Wheel of Frankfurt

Wheel of Frankfurt is a participatory and interdisciplinary theatre installation in public space: a giant wheel of fortune invites everyone to spin it spontaneously to win an artistic change of perception. Acrobats, dancers, musicians and surreal creatures appear when their respective field has been spun on the wheel of fortune.

For a few minutes, they add sensual, comical and touching experiences to the everyday functionality of the location. These small events interrupt everyday life and allow you to briefly immerse yourself in an intermediate world: with works of art in various forms, such as object theatre, circus or music. Further artistic actions are created in collaboration with people, groups and associations from Frankfurt. In the past, we have collaborated with choirs and community centres.

The installation is based on three pillars:

• The game concept is as simple as it is consistent.
• We work with professionals and amateurs alike.
• A focus on accessibility, in which we make the installation accessible to all the senses (including smell and taste) and use as little language as possible.

“[...] & Lovers” stands for close artistic collaboration between various artists. We are united by our interest in low-threshold performances in public spaces that make political questions about space, coexistence, or perception accessible in a playful and entertaining way.
