Together with the British bicycle manufacturer Brompton, WDC 2026 has developed a special edition of the iconic folding bike. The collaboration brings together design, urban mobility and sustainable perspectives for the future, making design visible where people move through the city every day.
At the centre of the project is the Brompton P Line. As part of an open call, designers and creatives from across Germany were invited to reinterpret the folding bike through their own design concepts. The aim was to create proposals that reflect the values of WDC 2026: openness, sustainability, social participation and innovative design.
An internationally renowned jury selected the winning entries. The jury includes Matthias Wagner K, Director of the Museum Angewandte Kunst, Frankfurt, Kathrin Krupka from German Design Graduates, Will Butterworth, Creative Lead at Brompton, content creator Julien Riganti, and Bernd Kracke.
