How does colour influence perception, political participation, and democracy? 

Barbara Glasner's Research Colour Studio invites you to an exhibition exploring the social and design dimensions of colour. Colour is presented not merely as an aesthetic and scientific phenomenon, but as an independent cultural and political force.

With Power of Colour, artist and designer Sandra Spoo presents an artistic perspective that examines colour as an identity-forming and political force. She reflects on the political, social, and emotional dimensions of colour as a medium of democratic expression. Spoo focuses on colour as a structural and identity-forming element in design and teaches colour in the product design department as an artistic associate at the Kunsthochschule Kassel.

Complementing Spoo's colour interventions, works by students from her current seminar "Colour and Identity," focusing on the theme "Colour and Democracy," will be on display. These projects explore colour as a medium of democratic participation, visibility, and social negotiation through urban research.

Glasner’s Colour Research Studio offers a space for discourse where theory and practice in the field of design converge. The interior architect, colour expert, and lecturer Barbara Glasner has been working at the intersection of design, architecture, and art for over 25 years and has realized numerous exhibitions, publications, and projects.

Barbara Glasner is an interior architect, colour expert, lecturer, and co-founder of the publishing house form. For over 25 years, she has worked at the intersection of design, architecture, and art, realizing numerous exhibitions, publications, and projects. In 2026, she founded the Colour Research Studio in Frankfurt. Sandra Spoo is a designer and artist and teaches colour as an artistic associate in the product design department at the Kunsthochschule Kassel.
