As part of World Design Capital (WDC) 2026, the Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain is realizing the project “Slam for Democracy.” The program is aimed at secondary school students in the funding area and combines creative language art with the WDC 2026's guiding principle: “Design for Democracy. Atmospheres for a Better Life.”

Around 20 schools from the Rhine-Main region are participating. Each school has been paired with a seminar leader who will work with the young people over the coming months to develop their own slam texts on the project theme. The frequency and structure of the workshops will be flexibly coordinated between the teachers and the poetry slammers.

The participating artists include Stella Jantosca, Jule Weber, Dalibor Markovic, Samuel Kramer, Tilman Döring, Dominique Macri, and Laura Paloma. The aim of the project is to bring democratic values and expressiveness to life through creative language arts. In addition to possible school presentations, the project will culminate in a joint closing event on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Congress Park Hanau (CPH).
